PARISIENNE JULEP
INGREDIENTS:
5 Mint leaves
1 1/2 oz. Bourbon Whiskey
1 oz. Chambord Liqueur
Float of St Germain Liqueur
GARNISH : Crushed ice
PREPARATION:
This is a variation one of the most famous and traditional American Cocktails……over 120.000 Mint julep are served every year during the Kentucky Derby alone…. lets make this number increase by making this a household favorite!
Place the mint leaves and a small amount of bourbon into the bottom of a mixing glass. Gently muddle the mint and then let stand for a bit to allow the muddled leaves to release their flavor. Strain and pour into a julep cup and fill with ice. Now add the remaining Bourbon Whiskey and Chambord and stir it well. Top it off with a float of St. Germain liqueur. Too Sweet? Those words are not in the Mint Julep dictionary, that’s what Julep means! Garnish with a lightly slapped mint sprig and enjoy the race to the finish line.
The color is reddish brown with green vains of dancing mint leaves. If you close your eyes and let your nose perceive the scents you will know you are in Kentucky and the taste is on the sweet side, every sip brings you back in time 50 years!
