BOMBARDINO
INGREDIENTS:
For 7 Servings
3 large egg yolks
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup whole milk
1 cup Marsala Wine
1 TSP vanilla extract
7/8 TBSP whipped cream (preferably homemade)
375 ml. good quality Brandy
PREPARATION :
Start by mixing the egg yolks and 1/2 cup of sugar in a large bowl and set aside.
Now place on the fire one cup of milk and bring it to a simmer. Add in the other 1/2 cup of sugar and whisk briskly to melt all the sugar. Now combine the egg yolk mixture and the milk and whisk them together. Add one cup of Marsala Wine and bring the mixture back to boil for 6-8 minutes. In a cognac or snifter glass pour 1 1/2 oz. of Brandy, add 3 oz. of our hot mixture and stir it gently. Top it off with a tablespoon of the homemade whipped cream ….make sure to serve it warm!
The color reminds me of eggnog, the scent is a mix between zabaglione and French toast… the taste is potent, warm and rich!
This is a classic European ski lodge drink …for sure does the job …will keep you warm and toasty!
