INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Basil Hayden’s Whiskey
1 oz Plantation Rum
1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz agave nectar
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Ice cubes
Grapefruit twist, for garnish
PREPARATION:
Start by combining 1.5 oz of Basil Hayden’s Whiskey, 1 oz of Plantation Rum, 1 oz of fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of agave nectar in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to thoroughly mix and chill the ingredients. Strain the mixture into an old, ornate vintage tumbler filled with ice cubes. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top of the drink. Express the oils from a grapefruit twist over the glass by holding the twist over the tumbler and giving it a gentle squeeze. Rub the twist along the rim of the glass and drop it into the cocktail. Serve the drink in the vintage tumbler, allowing the intricate flavors to shine through, enhanced by the elegant presentation.
